Futurewood Standard Deck ClipsStandard quality deck clips are designed to slide in to the grooved edge of the Futurewood board and be positioned over each joist. Once in position and after the boards have been checked for square on your deck and levered in to their final position the clip is screwed in to the joist providing a uniform 5.5mm gap between each board and a completely concealed fixing option. Futurewood Standard Deck Clips & Screws are available with either screws for fixing to timber joists or metal joists.
Boxes of 250 clips will cover 16sqm of 138mm wide decking boards installed on joists placed at 450mm intervals. |
Anti-Walking ClipsThe deck clip/anti-walking clip is both used to control the small amount of expansion & contraction produced by each board.
One anti-walking clip should be used per decking board regardless of the length of the board and the anti-walking clip should be used in place of the standard deck clip over the joist that is closest to the centre of the board. Refer to the fixing guidelines to confirm the fixing method when using anti-walking clips on metal joists. |
Futurewood Starting/Finishing Clips
The starting/finishing clip is used on the outside edge of both the first or starting board and the last or finishing board as there is only 1 grooved edge of the decking board to work with and not enough joist to be able to use a standard deck clip. One clip should be used every 900mm or every 2nd joist. If you are fixing to metal joists we recommend using a pop rivet to fix the clip. If the finishing board has been cut down to fit in a defined space and the outer groove is removed then we recommend using a router or biscuit cutter to cut a groove in the board edge every 900mm in order to fit the starting/finishing clips. |
Futurewood Breaker Board Deck Clips
The breaker board clip is required when a breaker board or breaker boards make up part of the deck design. The breaker board clip is used in place of the standard deck clip between the end of the regular decking board and the side of the breaker board at approximately 900mm intervals (every 6, 138mm wide boards) to secure breaker boards to the joists. Breaker board clips do not come with screws for metal joists refer to the fixing guidelines to confirm the fixing method when using breaker board clips on metal joists. |
